The G7 aspirants for the Speaker of the tenth Home of Representatives met with ‘better majority’ and resolved to current a consensus candidate for the Speaker and Deputy Speaker.
The teams met at a parley in Abuja on Saturday.
The G7 reiterated their dedication to work with the minority caucus to current a standard entrance for the tenth Nationwide Meeting Speaker.
The G7 is made up of the Deputy Speaker of the Home of Representatives, Rep. Ahmed Wase; Chairman, Home Committee on Appropriation, Rep. Aliyu Betara; Chairman, Home Committee on Navy, Rep. Yusuf Gagdi.
Others are: Rep. Sada Soli (APC-Katsina), Sani Jaji (APC-Zamfara), Miriam Onuoha (APC-Imo) and Rep. Ado Doguwa (Kano).
Mr Soli, who spoke on behalf of the G7, recommended the caucus whereas assuring them of their unalloyed help with a promise to current a consensus candidate to the ‘better majority’.
Responding on behalf of the ‘better majority’, Rep. Fred Agbedi, recommended the G7 in seeing the ‘better majority’ as companions in progress for the progressive development of the tenth Home of Representatives.
He applauded the lawmakers for sustaining sacredness of the hallowed chamber whereas assuring the G7 that the caucus had not endorsed any candidate.
Mr Agbedi promised that the better minority would work with all members-elect of the minority to make sure that the tenth Home had a speaker for all.
The entire variety of minorities within the Home from the PDP, NNPP, ADC, YPP and LP is 182, whereas the APC has 178 members-elect.
The main target of the better majority is to protect the independence of the legislature.
